Small Print

By Mark Bertrang, The Creator of the Financialoscopy® on Thursday, February 1st 2024

A little over a month ago, I came down with an ugly strain of COVID. It was actually the first time we’d ever had COVID, even during the whole pandemic situation. So, both my wife and I had it, and it didn’t just feel like ‘having a cold’ like people talk about. Instead, it was one of the strains that took us down for the count. This is not a political point of view, one way or the other. We were just plain sick.

We decided it was time to pull out all the stops to get well again. One of the things we did was take a drug called Paxlovid, and I want to discuss the small print that came with it. Look at all this tiny print on both sides of the paper-

Now, I’m glad that I took it because it helped to shorten the duration of our sickness. Isn’t it true though that what you are usually looking for is someone who will take the small print away from you?

This reminds me of when we came home from a vacation about a year ago and realized that our house was 45 degrees in the dead of winter.  Our 30-year-old furnace that we had had since purchasing our home had died. The heating and air conditioning guys could have gone into great detail explaining what had happened, why they could no longer fix this furnace, and what the game plan was to be able to heat my house, but I really didn’t care about the small print. I just wanted it to be at least 68 degrees again. The small print or details didn’t make any difference. I just wanted the experts to come in and fix my problem.

It’s the same thing when it comes to my automobile. I am not one to get under the hood and get my hands dirty because I have no idea what I’m doing. I go to an expert that understands engines and the complexity of how they work. In fact, sometimes they will sit down and try to explain in great detail what they did to my engine. I honestly don’t want to know. I just want to know if I can press the button and get from point A to point B without having a breakdown along the side of the road.

I am the same way when it comes to my health. If I’m down for the count, feeling like crap, and feel totally exhausted like I’m dying, I don’t want to read the small print. I depend upon the experts of the medical community to get me where I want to be, i.e. in good health.

So here we are. I got over my COVID symptoms. We’re through the first month of the new year. Have you kept all your New Year’s resolutions or have they already gone by the wayside? They were probably done within the first hours of the first day of that first month, but if you are looking for financial healing, not starting from a sick point, but where you’re trying to be as healthy as you possibly can be, just know that we read the small print for you. We do the mathematical calculations. We read the reports. We go through the analysis. We know the possibilities and the options to get you from point A to point B.

Most people aren’t interested in reading the small print on how to gain financial wellness. They’re looking for a doctor. They’re looking for a mechanic. They are looking for someone who will just repair their heating and air conditioning system. It’s still the beginning of the year, and now is the time to sit down and figure out how to be as financially healthy as possible in 2024 and beyond. Perhaps it’s time for you to schedule your Financialoscopy®.
