The REALLY Free Credit Report

By Mark Bertrang, The Creator of the Financialoscopy® on Thursday, November 12th 2020

Don't be fooled by look-alikes.  Lots of sites promise credit reports for free; but there is truly only one. AnnualCreditReport.com is the only official site explicitly directed by Federal law to provide credit reports from the credit reporting companies of TransUnion, Equifax and Experian.

Please write down this website exactly – AnnualCreditReport.Com.

Here’s the link - https://www.annualcreditreport.com

Your credit reports matter.

Federal law allows you to get a free copy of your credit report every twelve money from each of the credit reporting companies; but because of these unusual times each of the reporting companies are allowing you to obtain your reports free through April of this next year on a weekly basis.

Credit reports may affect your mortgage rates, credit card approvals, apartment requests, or a job application.

Reviewing credit reports helps you catch signs of identity theft early.

What should I look for when you review your credit report?

Make sure that you recognize the information on your credit report including your personally identifiable information, such as names, addresses, Social Security Number, accounts and loans. Then check that the other information on your credit report is accurate and complete. If you find information that you believe does not belong to you or is not correct, contact the business that issued the account or the credit reporting company that issued the report.

When you retrieve your free credit report at annualcreditreport.com take a moment to also check-out the tab titled “Protect Your Family”.  Under that tab, questions are answered like: How does identity theft happen? What are some of the warning signs of identity theft or fraud? How can I protect myself from identity theft? How does monitoring my credit help protect my identity? And what should I do if I think I may be a victim of identity theft?

You can also find links to the Federal Trade Commission’s website and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s website here, as well.

Now with so many people working online and ordering online, watching your credit in more important than ever before.
