The Financialoscopy Lab

By Mark Bertrang, The Creator of the Financialoscopy® on Thursday, July 7th 2022

Have you driven by our office lately? You probably have seen something new on the outside of our building. We call it the Financialoscopy Lab. On the inside, it’s additional space. A huge room where we are able to go through the process with clients to figure out where they need to be today, where they wish to be in the future, and how to get from point A to point B.

One of the things that we have big and bold on our wall, is the Prosperity Economic Principles. These are the principles that we use in trying to determine the best route to get you where you need to go. Some of the areas, the very first one is to Think. Think about what you’re doing. Think about what you want. Then being able to See. See the future. Then to Measure the changes, and the opportunities, and the choices that you have to move forward.

Then we like to talk about Cash Flow because you can have all of the assets in the world, but if they’re locked up, they are really not doing a lot for you. I grew up in a small community where I knew a lot of farmers that were multi-millionaires, but they owned dirt that was locked up. When it came to actual income, cash flow, those numbers were very, very low. So, even though they had all these assets, it didn’t mean anything as far as cash flow. The same thing goes when we need to farm your assets. Can we create cash flow now and in to the future?

Then it’s all about Control. We want control over our lives. We don’t want the government or the IRS to have control, but we would like to take command of our own lives.

Then there’s Liquidity. Being able to get to money, when you need money, whether it’s for an emergency or for opportunities that might come your way.

We also need to plan our lives through Economic Rates. What’s happening out in the real world, because unfortunately, we might have our own individual world, but we live in a real world where the economic rates change on a day-to-day basis.

There’s also Certainty that we automatically wish to build in to everything that we do. We can’t have all encompassing certainty, but certainty is something that we strive for.

Another very important part of how we put together our thinking, our planning, our strategizing is by using Actuarial Science. Let’s look at it this way; there are two things that we worry about, number one is not living long enough, number two is what happens if we live too long. I refer to this as running out of money before we run out of life.

Another thing we want to be able to look at is to be able to Multiply those things that we have and to be able to go 2x, 4x, 5x.

Another thing is the availability of being able to Leverage the assets that we have to be able to maximize what they will provide us in the future.

Lastly, people always like to gamble a little bit. They like a little bit of Uncertainty in their lives. That’s why they might buy a lottery ticket or they might buy that investment just for a little bit of excitement.

So, think about Thinking, Seeing, Measuring, Cash Flow, Control, Liquidity, Economic Rates, Certainty, Actuarial Science, Multiply, Leverage, and Uncertainty. Do you live by a set of principles in your life as you are planning and dictating what your future is going to be? That’s why here, in the Financialoscopy Lab, we use the Prosperity Economic Principles as our guide. If you’re a client of ours, we like you to know that this is what we’re thinking about. If you’re not a client, perhaps it’s time to schedule your Financialoscopy.
